3.5 stars rounded up

I enjoyed this sci-fi debut, I'm a sucker for big, devoted sweetheart alien males and esp when they have zero experience with women. The story starts introducing Rynn (H), who's the leader of his group of alien males. The aliens on the planet are all male after their goddesses punished them for how their ancestors treated their females. Now, the aliens believe their women live in one of two temples on the planet, which the males give offerings to. Then it switches to Serena (h), who was a cam girl on Earth, who's been abducted along with a group of other women. They're subjected to an alien auction and purchased by a buggy alien to be sold as mates for other aliens. Except their purchaser lands on another planet to avoid law enforcement and then he's killed by the wildlife, which also scares the women into scattering. Serena is rescued from a creepy alien creature by a winged, tailed, giant alien male, Rynn. Rynn also has lights under his skin and his heart stones light up because Serena is his fated mate. There's a language barrier and culture clash. Most of this book is focused on the main characters getting to communication, finding and saving the other women, and bonding between the main characters. Written in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama, H is a virgin and h is not (not much given on her history, but more info was shared about her prior job as a cam girl than I particularly cared for).

Rynn was such a giant, capable sweetheart who was instantly devoted to Serena. The world was dangerous but the men were all protective, if nosy and sometimes made the women uncomfortable. It's also a primitive society. Serena and the other women were interesting and we got enough background info that Serena didn’t feel flat. I definitely liked Rynn more, although I did like that it took time for Serena to accept him as a mate, so there wasn't a rushed feeling, but some of her behaviors and thoughts weren't my favorite. A couple of times she really hurts Rynn's feelings. The alien males know zero things about women or sex, so there are the fun scenes with teaching kissing, hilarious innuendos between the women that Rynn repeated but didn't understand and had me cracking up, and Serena teaching him the birds and the bees. I'd say this is a slow burn, but there are still a few steamy scenes. His *ahem* equipment is a little unusual, but I liked the tamer fact that his tail is an expressive one that wraps around her a lot. Also, his wings were used to shelter, protect, and give them privacy, and they were described so well.

There were elements that didn’t work as well for me. There are plot lines that are clearly going to be explored throughout the series, but a major one involving the female aliens and temples really bothered me. It's a shady circumstance that the human women question amongst themselves, but nothing happens. There are also bad, creepy alien creatures on the planet too and a plot line occurs involving them that concerned me too. The editing also had some iffy spots, which can happen with a debut.

The ending is a HFN with Rynn and Serena in love and happy, with hints of set-ups for some of the other couples, and those other hanging plot lines. The world is interesting and I’ll continue the series because I'm curious about those hanging plot lines. There was one couple in particular that I'd love to read about (silent grumpy alien with sweeter human woman).

A+ on all fronts
Loved this one so much!! It was hilarious, a little campy, and just an overall fun as heck time.

Abduction romances are such a hit, and our winged Alien men were awesome….and they’re all virgins…who literally have never seen a female body before.

I really enjoyed this! An easy to follow plot, with lovable characters.

The narrative of only male alien society coming in contact with progressive human women created an interesting and a UNIQUELY SPICY framework, that i personally enjoyed. Also the wholesome plot that lacked the scheme that novels usually follow, in which the couple breaks up or has a huge fight toward the end was also a plus (for me).

Can not wait to read more from this author!!!

wings, tail and glowing lights on the skin? yes please 💅🏽🤍 extra point for the hero because he's so lovely

this has the classic "our female gone because of sickness" trope but it was more realistic than the other books I've read. these guys have no idea about female body parts plus hero is not an excellent lover(bc he knows nothing about sex) so yeah it was realistic. i liked the characters well enough, i only wish there were more books because the other matches seems interesting👀

i'm curious about the temple stuff plus there were mentions of another girl's name and there are missing girls, i think author shouldn't have mention this much characters it would be better if they were introduced later(like ruby dixon's spin off series)🤷🏼‍♀️

This book had some serious instalove going on, which wasn’t unexpected given the synopsis. Serena was a confident cam girl trying to figure out how to thrive on an alien planet post abduction. Rynn was also confident, but also carried a lot of shame and religious trauma that made him more susceptible to any manipulation tactics Serena used. He was very forgiving and trusting. Don’t get me wrong; Serena’s manipulation was born out of a survival and protective instinct in a dire situation, but wasn’t my fave moment.
The “teach me” theme of the book was fun, although occasionally over the top. Like, are we saying that there are no gay aliens that got it on with each other and could figure out some stuff? That was a lil unbelievable.
I really liked how pragmatic Serena was—immediately understanding that going back to earth wasn’t an option. It brought some more believability to the story.

Spice: 4/5

Triggers: abduction, trafficking, captivity, physical assault, animal attack, violence, gore, mention of cheating (not MCs), mentions of child abandonment, sex work, possible pregnancy of side character, mention of ancestral domestic violence

Mmmmmmmm I guess I'll be pretty generous in this one considering this is my first ever alien romance (¿)

I just think that there are potential and plot points that I wish to be delved more, I guess it'll be given more attention in the 2nd book

For fun aspects, I find some parts in this story to be hilarious and, at the same time, just cringy, especially the parts where Rynn and Serena's smutty talk.

Overall, I think this is decent. I'll probably read the 2nd one.

This wasn't bad, but it was one of those reads that made me crave other similar books that I liked a little better.

I didn't love the whole "let's find birth control" aspect to the story . It's not like I was hoping he'd knock her up, but to make it a plot point diminished the primitive aspect of the book, lessening my enjoyment of this type of story.

I had to think hard about this review. I wasn't sure exactly how I felt at first. I enjoyed it for the most part but two things really bugged me...

1. The MFC has some personal history that makes her reluctant to have a serious relationship. That's fine and she is able to overcome and grow. BUT the MMC never knows about it. He just says the right and correct things at the right moment that puts her mind at rest. Again that's fine. But in hindsight, he never really learns about HER what makes her tick. What kind of life she had before landing on his planet. That makes me feel like the relationship was a very shallow one. He fits her needs and she fits his end of story.
2. I'm going to try and be vague to not spoil it. But one of the other females had a secret. She's scared to tell it to the men for fear they will treat her or the secret differently. This seems like a very unreasonable fear. Nothing about these men could possibly make anyone feel fear. They are so reverent and worshipful of the woman. If one of them asked these dudes to open their hand so they could poop in them they would think it a great honor and fight for the opportunity to be chosen. 🙄
I just started book two and this character continues to annoy me. I may DNF it already.

Rynn is what I want in a SFR: he's strong, capable, and an absolute cinnamon roll to his Serena. All the Fated Mate tropes are there, and the spice was spicy and perfect for them. I can't wait to see what we get from the author in future books.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Wings, Humor, and Alpha Males—Oh My!

Melissa Emerald, take all my stars! She’s climbing up my favorite authors list fast, and with this book, I’m officially hooked. We’ve got a language barrier trope (my fave!), plus a winged golden retriever-type male who’s all charm and innocence in the best alpha package ever. Seriously, who doesn’t love a guy with wings? Instant fave.

The world-building here is rich and detailed, with imagery that pulls you right in. There’s this cool blend of tech and primitive vibes, non-Earth flora and fauna, and vast cultural differences that feel both fresh and fully realized. Melissa creates a perfect clash of cultures, humor, and heart-pounding danger that keeps the drama just right without tipping into soap-opera territory.

I was totally submerged in this adventure from start to finish. If you’re ready for a journey filled with innocence, strength, and a seriously sexy but soft alpha, grab this one and settle in for an epic ride!

• Alien Romance
• Mates
• Bumpy Peens (with stars)
• Virgin MMC
• “Teach Me”
• Primal Play
• “Run”

This books starts with the FMC being abducted by aliens. They stop on a planet and the abducted humans end up getting away but now they’re stuck on this unknown planet.

The beginning of the book was like reading the first IPB book (although the alien descriptions are much different) except the humans were auctioned off.

I enjoyed the characters although I felt like the fmc should let the aliens know the ‘temple’ clearly was a spaceship instead of a temple.

The FMC gets to teach the MMC how to please her and the run scene was SO hot (he tackles her).

If you enjoy alien romance, like Ice Planet Barbarians and are looking for an easy alien read I definitely recommend.

Pudo ser más picante pero me trajo buenos recuerdos de cuando andaba leyendo a los IPB 💙 gosh y es que estos aliens están hermosos con sus brillitos en todos lados, tal cual bola de disco 🪩 además de que ¿vuelan? That’s it.

This book has all the stuff you'll love because you already read it in another book. I thought I'd picked up Ella Maven's first drixonian book and not in a good way. That abduction scene. And then the language stuff with the woman was so close to Ursa Dax's Tyrant book. Some things were too close pulsing skin stars instead of sight stars. I don't know. This author can write okay but lots of stuff is too close to popular books.

"You have me until the end of my days under the twin suns, my little light."

This was a pretty fun alien romance! The women are abducted and get deposited on this world, where the winged men with light up skin have never seen a woman in their whole life. This lead to a pretty fun dynamic and this book was pretty zany alien romance fare. It was a pretty easy plot to follow, but I do wish the world and plot went a little bit more in-depth. I do think that there are threads of mysteries that will be further explored in later books. An easy, fun alien romance if you are looking for the trope of Virgin hero who was literally never seen a woman before!

I am extremely intrigued about the alien bird guys "temple" that looks like a space ship.
It accepts "offerings" of jars of cum which supposedly impregnate their women who they've never seen or met that live inside the temple. If it's a girl, she lives in the temple. If it's a boy, he comes out and lives with the men. The women are "protected in the temple" because the men used to clip their wings generations ago and they didn't deserve the women. A shining ball comes out of the temple and floats around and speaks to the aliens and humans, and at one point even offers translators to the human women. The aliens believe this is their goddess but it is SO sketchy and sinister.
What's really inside the temple? Are there women in there? What is being done to their seed offerings(maybe it's some kind of scientist mission and they are cloning or something and there are no females to begin with, maybe they all died off and they are trying to find a way to transform the sample from male DNA to female DNA but it isn't working out, and that's why only baby boys are able to be removed from the temple).
It is very suspicious indeed and really that part of the story is exactly what makes me want to read book 2, so I can figure out what is going on! Is it a previous human mission? The floating orb thing that talks and hands out technology is just weird. And there are/were 2 other tribes with spaceship goddesses of their own

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This is my first time reading this author and it won’t be the last this book was amazing and I loved every page I turned. Serena was abducted with other humans to be sold off at auction and are now in the hands of a Mantis alien who crashes on a jungle planet to escape the authorities and the females con the alien to let use the bushes outside when they are attacked by a creature who kills the alien and they make a run for it different directions when she is saved from a creature by a winged and tailed alien male. Rynn is a Trixikka male and tribe leader who have seen a female for over one hundred years after there female’s where taken from them by the goddess because they where treated badly and had there wings cut off and told to stay in the village and that’s when the goddess stepped in and made the males protect the temple and now having a female in his tribe’s village is a big deal and at first he couldn’t understand his mate till the went to the temple and she was given a translator and now she can talk to Rynn who protects and cares for her and realizes this is her life now and to have someone that would do anything for you and when he tells her she is his mate and that’s why his chest lights up near his heart. Brilliant start and a must read I loved it and I look forward to more from this author.

Meeting the Protector . . .

Rynn is the Protector Chief of the Trixikka, leader of his tribe. Serena and other women have been abducted by aliens who wish to sell them off as breeders, but they end up crashing on a planet where she is rescued by the winged Protector-Warrior, Rynn. Despite not having seen a female before, he knows enough to recognize his mate. She, of course, wants him to find and rescue the other women as well. Will Serena be willing to become Rynn’s mate? Or will she want to find a way to return to Earth?

The author did a good job of introducing us to this new world and their culture. I can see, however, that the women all need to do some growing up or they will endanger everyone else. (I am thinking of how they deliberately distracted and enticed the younger aliens which allowed an angry Rynn to close in on them where he could have done harm to the women. He’s trying to teach them what a Protector must do, and the women are flirting to distract them!)

This was so fun. Not much happened but I’m also totally okay with that and somehow didn’t end up bored. The author managed to write an alien smut novel that didn’t reek of cliches and other alien smut novels. The ‘sickness’ that took the females was also a great take on the whole gender issue and leaves a good mystery to be solved going forward. I only read alien smut for escapism so this was great

I honestly don’t understand how this author hasn’t been sued by the author of ice planet barbarians yet. It feels like an exact replica or at least a fanfic; this planet is just a hot jungle planet instead of the ice planet but the concept is totally the same - including extra girls in pods to light up your ✨heart crystals✨

The book that was recommended to me by one of my favorite YouTubers revolves around a character named Rynn, who is deeply devoted to Serena. However, personally, I found the book to be a bit dull at times. The story is set in a primitive society where Serena is kidnapped from Earth and thrown into a world that is quite dangerous. In this society, the men are all very protective of the women, which can sometimes make them feel uncomfortable and intruded upon.

Despite this, there are moments in the story where the protective nature of the male characters adds to the intrigue and suspense of the plot. However, overall I felt that the pairing of Rynn and Serena lacked the spark that makes a story truly compelling. While the book does have its moments of excitement and tension, I found it to be slow-paced and not as gripping as I had hoped.

I went in with no expectations keep that in mind.

- Rynn only exist for the pleasure of the FMC.
- Serena is the only character with a smidge of character development and that is likely because she is the main focus. (This also could be because the author isn’t use to writing as much detail from the MMC perspective)
- Chasity, Alana, and Bea have absolutely no character development at all.
- Chasity is the exact same throughout the entire book which in these types of books you always have that character, but she existed for the comedic timing.
- Bea is a coward. I understand she’s trapped on this planet and wants to leave, but when the bird flying men are your best bet I think staying is okay. (I have my theories about who her twinkle man is but I’ll stay quiet.)
- Alana only exist for one thing and we all know what it is. I’m not going into detail about how she also has no character development either.
- Overall, I wished the girls got closer and if they did you really didn’t get that by reading it. They talked everyday but you didn’t understand the care they had for one another. Then, you have the men who worships these goddesses who by the way are highly suspicious.
- Will I be reading book 2? Maybe (a very small maybe) I need development—not a rushed storyline.

This book reads in a heartbeat and engages, although it is a very similar story to many I have read of Aliens, although I know there is a lot to discover, I didn't feel this book added anything to the overall plot.

I want to know more of that world, I hope the rest of the books are better.

Cute for a monster romance I just wish there had been more of the main couple getting to know each other in depth. Like Serena explaining why she has hesitant to get emotionally involved with Rynn.
