We gather data directly from auctions, dealer sales reports, and dealer surveys, plus dealer and consumer listings and sales transactions nationwide. The values are derived after careful study and analysis of data we deemed reliable, in additional to current market and economic conditions.

From your motorcycle’s value page, an “Optional Equipment” table for common accessories is available by accessing the ‘Optional Equipment’ link. Values for manufacturer options that we’ve deemed significant may be found by accessing the ‘Motorcycle Specs’ link on the same page. Options not listed may not have a consistent or reportable added value in the used marketplace. That is not to say that such options are worthless – as they may make your vehicle more marketable against similar models; however, we do not address options when there is not a consistent value to report.
How can I get a value for a motorcycle you do not list?
A motorcycle may not appear on our site due to a lack of transactional data in the used marketplace to determine a market reflective value. This may be due to low production numbers, to it being a newly introduced model, or to it coming from a brand-new manufacturer. The best thing to do would be to get a private appraisal. An appraiser can assess the condition of your motorcycle and let you know what the value is. Another option would be to look at local listings in your area to see how much others are asking for the same motorcycle. A third option would be to take the bike to a few dealers and ask for their opinions. If you have a local bike shop, the mechanic working there might be a good source of information.

Due to variance in condition, the value could vary from one extreme to the other. The best thing to do to assess extra value added by equipment, paint or condition would be to contact a private appraiser.

Kelley Blue Book does not give dollar figures to add or deduct based on mileage for motorcycles. The reason for this is that the condition of the motorcycle is of far more importance than the number of miles it has been ridden. A motorcycle that has been ridden several thousand miles on surface streets will have less wear and tear than another motorcycle that has the same number of miles but has been ridden over rougher terrain. It is between the buyer and the seller to determine how much to add or deduct from the Kelley Blue Book® Value based on the condition of the motorcycle.
